A New Record at Toronto Reference Library!

Repair Café had a great start in the new year! On Saturday January 19, we returned to Toronto Reference Library and offered our first full café in 2019. In spite of the cold and snowy weather, we had the highest turnout of volunteers and received the most broken household items since we started in 2013. A total of 70 volunteers supported the four-hour event, and by the end more than 250 items were fixed!

During the café, we set up a variety of work stations where fixers worked with their visitors one-on-one on the items they brought in, including books, clothes, jewellery, computers, electronics, small appliances, among others. Here are a video and photos of some highlights:

We would like to thank Toronto Reference Library and Balzac’s Coffee sincerely for their fabulous support!

Our next full Repair Café will be held at Central Neighbourhood House on Saturday February 23. For details, please visit the Upcoming Events page.

We hope to see you there!
