Repair Café Celebrates Our 4th Anniversary!

On Saturday, May 27, Repair Café returned to Skills for Change in the St. Clair West neighbourhood for our 4th anniversary. At this special event, along with our regular fixers, we featured fixers specialized in repairing gardening tools and providing advice on repotting and growing healthy gardens. The café was followed by a barbecue lunch to celebrate our 4-year milestone, and to thank all our volunteers for their wonderful contribution. For more event photos, please visit our Facebook page.

Repair Café has been growing steadily since we started in 2013. We now have more than 100 active volunteers joining our events held in different neighbourhoods across the city every month. And some of the volunteers are also helping out at our storefront with Toronto Tool Library which is open every Sunday afternoon.

As a relatively new grassroots community organization, the Organizing Committee is grateful for the continuous support of our dedicated volunteers. We are glad that our community shares our core values. We have also been happily helping others to develop their own repair cafes and events — the latest, in Guelph, Region of Peel, Oshawa, University of Toronto, Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island, even Sydney in Australia!

We look forward to our 5th anniversary next year!
