Young Generation!

Repair Café has entered its 6th year. Our volunteer team is growing as we are reaching out to more and more different locations around the city. What is exciting for us is that we are seeing more young volunteers returning to help out in different roles, whether it is assisting with set up, learning to fix, mentoring others to do fixing, or providing general support. They are showing self-initiative and bringing a lot of positive energy and creativity to the Repair Café.

In our most recent full café at Fairview Public Library held on Saturday, September 29, our young volunteers were a big help. A few of them arrived more than an hour early to assist with setting up the space. Among the new volunteers, this time we had some volunteers attending this event after their first café experience at Karma Co-op or Christie Pit Park held earlier in September. Some of our young volunteers were brought to this café by their family or friends. No matter where they came from, our volunteers, new and old, all enjoyed the collaborative atmosphere at the Repair Café. Below are a few photos taken from the event.

Our next Repair Café will be held at Roncesvalles United Church on Saturday, October 27. For details, visit our Upcoming Events page.

Hope to see you at the next Repair Café!
